About Us

Our Story: Built on Faith, Family & Hard Work

At Roberson’s Family Farm, everything we do is rooted in love—for the land, for each other, and for the life we’ve built together.

Bubba grew up in the dairy business, where long mornings started at 4:30 a.m. milking cows. Though he always loved cattle, he often said there had to be a better way to make a living. He later pursued a career as a structural engineer, trading farm boots for blueprints—but that love for the land never left him.

Samantha, a city girl raised in the suburbs, spent her youth on the softball field and later built a career in multi-housing flooring sales. Life eventually led both of us to Nashville, TN, where we met, fell in love, and began writing the next chapter of our story together.

After a move to Memphis, we stumbled upon a hidden gem: Somerville, Tennessee. With Bubba’s three boys and three more children to come, our family was growing—and so was a dream. In 2019, we took a leap of faith and started raising beef cattle, running a combination of cow/calf and feedlot operations with up to 2,800 head, all while working full-time jobs.

That didn’t last long.

Samantha left her job to manage the farm full-time. We partnered with our neighbor, Mr. Wayne Thomas of Thomas Farms, to expand our herd with quality cows and bulls.

When COVID hit, we saw firsthand the growing need for farm-raised, locally sourced beef, and knew it was time to focus solely on raising steer calves for beef through a structured cow/calf operation.

Then, in 2022, everything changed.

Bubba suffered a stroke, bringing the farm to a sudden stop. Through doctor visits, therapy, and long days of recovery, Samantha kept the farm running, the kids cared for, and the dream alive. By God’s grace, Bubba regained his strength—and his determination. Together, we picked up where we left off.

In 2024, we expanded into pork, raising Duroc-Berkshire cross feeder pigs with the same level of care and attention as our cattle. And in January 2025, our vision came to life with the launch of The Fancy Cow, offering quarter, half, and whole beef and pork to fill family freezers. Just six months later, in June 2025, The Fancy Cow Meat Market opened its doors to the public—offering premium beef and pork by the pound, along with pre-orders and bulk freezer packs.
